Mit Aufsteckblitz um Bewegungsunschärfe zu vermeiden, die 1/80 s habe ich genommen damit der Blitz die Belichtung macht. Habe auf den Stempel der vorderen Blüte fokussiert. f/11 um die ganze vordere Blüte in der Schärfe-Ebene zu haben, mehr Abblenden bringt nichts wegen der dann überwiegenden Beugungsunschärfe.
Am Tag zuvor habe ich es mit 1/500 s versucht = unscharf wegen Bewegungsunschärfe (f/5.6 ISO 1600)

Zur Abtrennung des Genitiv-s darf der Apostroph nach geltender Rechtschreibung grundsätzlich nicht gesetzt werden. Zugelassen ist er nur zur Verdeutlichung von Eigennamen, wie z. B. bei "Andrea’s Fotogalerie", weil hier sonst eine Verwechslung mit dem männlichen Vornamen Andreas möglich ist.

Canopy of Green
When reading about popular campgrounds in Oregon, Beverly Beach was one that came up a lot. People jumping up and down about how beautiful it was. It's one of those places that, if you don't sit on the reservation window when the sites become available, you won't get to stay there. We were really happy when we got a full two-weeks reservation because it's true, Beverly Beach is GORGEOUS! I couldn't believe the greenery everywhere, it was like a rainforest!

Today's Picture
Right next to the prehistoric-looking bog that I shared in my last post, my attention was drawn to this lovely tree with large leaves. The leaves were so pretty that I spent a while just staring, moving my position and looking again to appreciate the glowing leaves and beautiful textures of the veining. This image will give you an idea of what I was looking at! (I don't know what kind of tree this is…do you know?)

Today's Insets
Inset #1 : Each morning I watched the trail carefully because quite often there would be a Rough-Skinned Newt making its rounds. They didn't move very fast and blended in with the trail so I watched for any movement as I walked along. Here was one of the little cutie-pies I happened upon, along with a close-up so you can see its face better.

Inset #3: As you can imagine, such a lush and moist forest was a perfect environment for fungi and they were all over the place! Steve discovered this moss-covered trunk that was covered with an entire village of little mushrooms! Aren't they grand!

Inset #4: One of the unusual features of this park was the great number of trees with these fabulous roots! They formed such large cage-like areas that I would often find clusters of children playing inside, giggling when I spotted them!

Inset #5: The deep shore of Beverly Beach seemed to go on and on at low tide. On this grey and stormy day, I thought it was interesting how the receding waves seemed to entice me to follow them out to the ocean. Yikes!

Inset #6: This is very close to the end of Spencer Creek, where it empties out into the Pacific Ocean at Beverly Beach. I loved looking at the waving grass under the clear water but this image, though pretty, cannot capture the mesmerizing sight.

I fight with my feelings of guilt for not returning the favor and am still dealing with issues regarding anxiety but I'm getting more days that are better. It's a slow road. Photography is a Boon For Discovery and Learning!
One of the things I most adore about photography is the opportunity to learn, first-hand, about everything I find. It's one thing to take a picture--anyone can do that. But, do you take the time to learn more about the subjects/theme/history etc. that you photograph? For me, an image by itself does not suffice, especially if I'm unfamiliar with what's in the image. In fact, to pay it justice, learning whatever I can is almost a requirement to me. And, because of my photography and thirst for knowledge, I've learned so much about the world around me. It's no wonder that the one thing that Steve and I don't like about our RV trips is the spotty connection to the internet. Both of us need to be able to tap into the world's largest research library! Until I'm able to understand what I've photographed, I am unhappy and totally unsatisfied. Do you feel like that too?

Today's Picture
My marvelous daily hike was one I relished! From our campsite, I walked through Honeyman campground, past Cleawox Lake and alongside Woahink Lake and then around the magical forest loop and back again. Alongside Woahink Lake, I discovered marvelous surprises to photograph, but when I found this, I just about fell over! I noticed a pair of yellow spikes jutting out of the ground just next to the trail--one could have stepped on them in fact!--and I could hardly believe my eyes! What a WEIRD plant!! I thought until just this morning that I was looking at a very rare yellow version of Groundcone called Vancouver Groundcone. But I've just learned that this may be Fringed Pinesap too. Honestly I cannot say which it could be, but there is no debating its unusual beauty! I will be submitting my pictures to a group who will be able to tell me for sure if I've photographed a groundcone or a pinesap!

Today's Insets
Inset #1: I was delighted to see the beautiful groups of California Groundcone along the Woahink Lake portion of my daily walk. They were in such perfect condition and perfectly placed for easy photography!

Inset #2: Steve and I learned how to take vertical panoramas with our phone cameras and we just love the way they look. This is part of the trail I walked every morning, dappled shadows and all!

Inset #3: Along the lovely forest loop is a huge area under the pine trees which are covered with moss. This group of birdnest fungus was growing in enormous groups all over! What a rare and delightful surprise!

Inset #4 The trail along Woahink Lake goes past a tiny island that I cherished looking at every time I walked by. I love all the trees and plants on it--what a special treasure!

Inset #5 & #6: One day I spotted a garter snake who was relaxing on the moss under the pine trees along the forest loop. It allowed me to slowly approach and take all of the pictures I wanted before I quietly retreated and moved on. I was overjoyed at this opportunity!

Inset #7: This is another wonderful picture of the sand dunes that are so close to our campground and encompass one side of Cleawox Lake. Magnificent!

Il comune è noto sul territorio per la presenza del cosiddetto "Mulino di Daudet", edificato nel 1815, in riferimento allo scrittore Alphonse Daudet che ne parla nelle sue Lettere dal mio mulino. Tale citazione è stata sufficiente per rendere molto famoso questo mulino a vento (in realtà chiamato "Moulin Saint-Pierre" o "Moulin Ribet" dal nome del suo ultimo proprietario), e con esso la cittadina.

La presenza a breve distanza dei ruderi di altri tre mulini, Mulino Ramet, Mulino Sourdon, Mulino Tissot-Avon (Questo in foto credo sia il Sourdon che ha perso le pale ...), un tempo simboli identificativi della città, ha spinto a sfruttare l'area a scopo turistico. Pertanto il Moulin Ribet è stato completamente restaurato e reso visitabile, è stato creato un piccolo museo dedicato a Daudet, ed è stato istituito un "Percorso Daudet" di circa un chilometro che tocca, oltre ai quattro mulini ed il museo, anche il vicino Castello di Montauban.
