SC140 - post 30 March - Poster style.

I couldn't get this looking good in portrait format, but attempted the 'feeling' of old seaside posters. Posters of all kinds were produced, usually by the railways, to promote tourist spots in Great Britain.

SC45 = Abstraction

I took this using the shutter speed priority and vertical camera movement with a shutter speed of 0.25.

This is a photo of one of our many bookcases, and it's just possible to recognize a clock at the bottom of the photo.

Both Pips are taken in the kitchen, the first one has my purse and a packet of tissues on the top of the kitchen top, and the second one includes a magazine called 'The Oldie'.

A colourful little character

The Sunday Challenge this week is Inversion. I didn't really like the effects of this and and had to do something that gave me a bit more pleasure, so I followed the instructions which were given as an aid on the TSC site.

The first difficulty presented itself immediately - I didn't have a Lasso Tool; but then I found the Magnetic Lasso. That tool was a tad difficult to use but by this point I became determined.

The next problem was working with different layers which I've never done before. That was quite easy. Then I had to search to find where the Inversion tool was.

The final process was to touch up the edges of the colourful little character. I learned a lot about the power of Photoshop, enjoyed the challenge, and will never trust a digital photograph ever again. :-)

The PiPs show the original and a total inversion.

TSC: This week take a picture using a mobile phone. Of anything you like, or do another abstract with it. Use apps if you like. Your choice for this.

This week I went to an exhibition " Egypt of Glory - The Last Great Dynasties "

I edited first a picture of a statue of Amenhotep II in an app "Snapseed" and after that in "Mirror Lab".
In Photoshop I added the moon and stars. Just fun for a change :)
