I was not allowed to bring an SLR exchangeable lens camera into the venue so I shot this with my wonderful bridge camera (Panasonic DC-FZ1000M2). Although this camera was not designed for high speed sports photography, it rose to the challenge.

Boston Marathon 2026

"Harvest
The cranberry harvest takes place once a year from mid-September through early November. There are two methods of harvesting cranberries.

Dry Harvesting
Dry harvesting uses walk-behind machines to comb the berries off the vines into burlap bags. Berries are then removed from the bogs by either bog vehicles or helicopters. The fruit is delivered to fresh fruit receiving stations where it is graded and screened based on color and ability to bounce (soft berries will not bounce). Dry harvested cranberries are used to supply the fresh fruit market. These cranberries are most often used for cooking and baking....

Wet Harvesting
Cranberries have pockets of air inside the fruit. Because of this, cranberries float in water, and thus, the bogs can be flooded to aid in removal of fruit from the vines. Water reels, nicknamed “egg-beaters” are used to stir up the water in the bogs. By this action, cranberries are dislodged from the vines and float to the surface of the water. Wooden or plastic “booms” are used to round up the berries, which are then lifted by conveyor or pumped into a truck to take them to the receiving station for cleaning. More than 90% of the crop is wet harvested. Wet harvested cranberries are used for juices, sauces, sweetened dried cranberries, ingredients in other processed foods or in nutraceutical products."

The workers stand knee deep in the cold water and pull the boom around to coral the floating cranberries in a smaller area so that they can be pumped into the truck.

Im letzten Jahr fand in Bad Dürrenberg (Sachsen-Anhalt) die Landesgartenschau statt. Beim Besuch in diesem Jahr wollten wir mal nachsehen, was von der Gartenschau noch übrig geblieben ist. Im sog. "Palmenhaus" entdeckten wir diese zwei Frösche.

The morning after the Holi festival, Jaisalmer’s streets are washed in sharp sunlight, the golden sandstone glowing against the clear desert sky. The city is quieter now, the echoes of celebration replaced by the steady rhythms of daily life. On a cracked stone path, a cow stands in the half-shadow, its horns and gentle features illuminated by the harsh light.

Cows like this one are a constant presence in Jaisalmer, moving freely through the narrow lanes, pausing in doorways or resting in the shade. Locals pass by, some offering a gentle pat or a handful of feed, honoring the animal’s place in the city’s traditions. The grainy black-and-white texture of the scene emphasizes the timelessness of this relationship—where animal and city are deeply intertwined, and where the spirit of Jaisalmer endures in the quiet moments after the festivities have faded.

The man remains stationary while pivoting. He must keep the appropriate tension on the woman's arm to keep her from collapsing to the ice. The woman must maintain her balance and lower her head to knee level while circling the man.
