Das Heimatmuseum von Upernavik umfasst die alten Kolonialgebäude, im Hauptbild die Kirche von 1839 und der alte Laden von 1864. Im gemauerten, außen gelb gestrichenen Teil wurden früher die Fässer mit Waltran gelagert.

Der Victoria-Salon im Stockholmer Königsschloss

"Der Salon hat seinen Namen von einer Skulptur der Siegesgöttin Victoria, die bereits Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts hierher verlegt wurde. Ursprünglich befanden sich hier zwei Räume: Adolf Fredriks Arbeitszimmer und Audienzsaal. Die Trennwand wurde unter Gustav III. abgerissen, und der neue, langgestreckte Raum wurde danach mehrmals neu eingerichtet. Die heutige Innenausstattung wurde vom Architekten Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander in den 1860er Jahren entworfen. Dort wurden auch die Kristallkronleuchter in der Glasmanufaktur Lobmeyr in Wien angefertigt.
Die beiden ovalen Tische mit Tischplatten aus Marmorstuck wurden 1844 in München für Oskar I. und Königin Josefina gefertigt."

At Humberstone the company town remained intact, at Santa Laura it's the industrial complex. What's left of the former town is more or less only this bandstand at the plaza.

Humberstone and Samta Laura Saltpeter Works were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2005 and immediately put on the list of world heritage in danger (until 2019) to get funds for preserving and stabilizing the remaining buildings.
There had been extensive damage partly due to earthquakes but also because of looting. The harsh desert climate in combination with wind and coastal fog (camanchaca) had left most surfaces covered with a mixture of sand and salt, corroding the metal parts.

Die Installation im Fotomuseum Winterthur war so ein Moment – schwebende Figuren, zerschnittene Realitäten, Farben, die zwischen Traum und Erinnerung oszillieren. Ich habe sie mit meiner Q3 eingefangen, doch erst in der Nachbearbeitung wurde mir klar, was mich daran so fasziniert: die Zerbrechlichkeit dieser schwebenden Welt.

In Stockholm machten wir den vierten Landausflug unserer Reise. Wir besichtigten die historische Altstadt und das Königsschloss, sahen bei der Wachablösung zu und bestaunten den Größenwahn von Gustav II. Adolf von Schweden, der zum Bau und 1628 zum Untergang der "Vasa" führte. Das Foto zeigt Modell und Original des im Jahre 1961 gehobenen und gut erhaltenen Schiffswracks.

Designed by architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the 1927 Werkbund-Ausstellung, the 2 semi detached houses Rathenaustrasse 1-3 (and another detached house) were listed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2016.

The interiour was designed with sliding doors and built-in furniture (the beds for instance could be stored in the wardrobes during the day) and painted in typical Bauhaus colours.
For the people living in the houses this concept was rather alien and they started changing the original design until all original features were lost. Finally in 2006 the semi detached houses were turned into a museum and the original interiour was restored after old photos and plans.
