Zum Abschluss des ipernity-Treffens haben wir am 31.05.2026 das Bulldog Museum Kreuzweiler besucht. Kreuzweiler ist ein Ortsteil der Ortsgemeinde Palzem, die wiederum zur Verbandsgemeinde Saarburg-Kell im rheinland-pfälzischen Landkreis Trier-Saarburg gehört.

Die Besitzer Robert und Martina Willkomm hatten das Museum extra für unsere Gruppe geöffnet. Ausgestellt ist hier eine große Sammlung von historischen Traktoren und landwirtschaftlichen Geräten, die für Fotografen jede Menge Motive bietet.

I've uploaded the black and white version of this before, but I'm really interested in which image people prefer, as I can't decide myself.

It was the colours in the scene that originally caught my eye when I walked past; with the faded paintwork and the dusting of moss giving it a pastel look. On the other hand, I think a high-contrast black and white look can work well with industrial subjects.

So, please help me improve my photographer's eye and tell me which looks better (or if neither works for you!) Thank you.

Oldtimertreffen Altes Blech in Lohfeld. Hier gab es alte Autos, Motorräder, Traktoren und Nutzfahrzeuge zu sehen. Vom Einzylinder bis V12 war alles dabei. Es knatterte, dröhnte, rauchte und es roch nach verbranntem Benzin.

Dieses Expertenpaar interessiert sich offenbar für den alten Lanz Bulldog (rechts) und den argentinischen Linzenznachbau Pampa (links und PiP). Vielleicht hatten sie selbst einmal ein Exemplar.
Beide Traktoren dürften etwa Baujahr 1950 sein. Der Traktor hat einen Einzylinder-Zweitakt-Vielstoffmotor mit 10,3 Liter Hubraum und 55 PS bei 750 U/min. Da braucht man keinen Drehzahlmesser, denn man kann jede Explosion mitzählen. Der Fahrer wird dabei ordentlich durchgeschüttelt. Der Motor kann auch mit Schweröl, Pflanzenöl und Tran betrieben werden, und er kann sogar rückwärts laufen. Das charakteristische Pochen des Motors hört man schon aus einem Kilometer Entfernung.

Commonly seen on WW2 airfields, apart from aircraft, Taskmasters would tow bomb trolleys and other loads - sometimes in long "trains"
