Im Bild die Flößerbrücke in Frankfurt am Main, im Hintergrund ein Teil der Skyline. Die Brücke war am Anfang umstritten, zum einen wegen der Schrägführung der Brücke über den Main, zum anderen wegen der als zu dominant angesehenen Pylone. Mittlerweile hat sich aber der Blick von der Brücke zur Skyline zu einem der Wahrzeichen Frankfurts entwickelt. Das Bild entstand bei einer Flussrundfahrt.

The photo shows the Flößerbrücke in Frankfurt am Main, with part of the skyline visible in the background. When the bridge was first built, it was controversial — partly because of its diagonal alignment across the Main River, and partly because many considered its pylons too dominant. Over time, however, the view from the bridge toward the skyline has become one of Frankfurt’s signature sights. The picture was taken during a river cruise.

In der Nähe von Schweinfurt befindet sich das Schloss Mainberg in romantischer Lage über dem Main, dessen Geschichte über tausend Jahre zurückreicht. Der markante Turm wurde zwischen 900 und 1000 n. Chr. erbaut. In den letzten Jahrzehnten hatte das Schloss immer wieder wechselnde Besitzer. Zurzeit wird das Schloss im Internet für rund 3,2 Mio. Euro zum Verkauf angeboten. Aber Achtung: Die Gebäude sind stark renovierungsbedürftig!

Near Schweinfurt (Germany, Lower Franconia), you’ll find Mainberg Castle (Schloss Mainberg), romantically situated above the River Main. Its history goes back more than a thousand years - the distinctive tower was built between 900 and 1000 AD. In recent decades, the castle has frequently changed owners. It is currently listed for sale online for around 3.2 million euros. But beware: the buildings are in need of extensive renovation!

Nein. Der Schreiner war nicht besoffen. Vielmehr hatte Jasna Blaic die Idee, eine Sitzbank mit der Silhouette vom Verlauf des Mains vom Ochsenkopf bis nach Frankfurt aufzustellen.
So geschah es dann auch.
