The Ivorian singer and songwriter Tiken Jah Fakoly is considered one of the most influential reggae musicians in Africa. He plays roots reggae and sings mostly in French or African languages. Almost all of his lyrics are political. In his 1996 song "Mangercratie", he criticizes his country's political leadership and advocates for everyone's right to food. Despite censorship, this song remained in the charts for months. After receiving death threats due to his lyrics Tiken Jah Fakoly went into exile in Mali in 2003. Several songs also strongly criticize the French government's policy toward Africa, which has massively supported African dictatorships in recent decades.

Tiken Jah Fakoly was celebrated by a large, enthusiastic audience. Everyone sang along!

Jédapama is indeed a great mix of different musical styles. It's comparable to a very well balanced sauce where you can taste the different ingredients on your tongue. Here, you need your ears, and you can hear influences from French chanson, slam poetry, jazz, reggae, pop, and much more, and all these styles blend together into a very interesting and entertaining music.
It's always a pleasure to spend a few nights here during the festival. Most concerts are free – and the nights can be very long.

Plus, Jédapama has a great stage presence
</media:text>

Electro Deluxe, a well-known powerhouse jazz band existing since the early 2000s, gave the audience an evening deluxe. Electro Deluxe blends jazz elements with funk, soul, electronic music and improvisation. The band´s charismatic singer James Copley has the talent to interact with the audience in a very thrilling way, so that at the end not only the band was exhausted, but the audience as well. I have seen them a couple of times over the years. The band was better than ever!
