In the PiP one can see the irrigation of potato fields in the background. Severn Trent, our water authority, has not brought a hosepipe ban in yet. There are deep aquifers underground in Shropshire, but they have advised their customers to be very sparing with hosepipes.

We are not using our hosepipe to water borders as I want to see what plants survive the drought, so that I can give a talk to our local garden club.

I think farmers are exempt because they are providing food for the nation.

Elle présente une coloration gris-brun marbrée, un corps légèrement en forme de bouclier et mesure environ 12 à 17 mm de long. Ses caractéristiques typiques sont les anneaux blancs ou clairs sur les antennes (surtout sur l'avant-dernier et le dernier segment) et le bord abdominal noir et blanc. Elle se nourrit de fruits, de feuilles et de tiges et on peut l'observer du printemps à la fin de l'automne.

We had seen this mother and daughter walking their two Dachshund puppies walking along the riverside going in the opposite direction from us. When we, along with several other people stopped to have a coffee, this little puppy, much to the amusement of the 'audience', decided that enough was enough as far as walking was concerned.

Sie sind ja winzige Spinnenund nur ca 4-5mm groß,was ich anfangs gar nicht so genau sehen konnte,dass er sich da eine Raupe geholt hat,aber er war neugierig auf ein Fotoshooting und ich konnte einige Bilder machen :))

They are tiny spiders, only about 4-5mm long, which I couldn't quite see at first, that he had gotten himself a caterpillar, but he was curious about a photo shoot and I was able to take some pictures :))

Ce sont de minuscules araignées, d'à peine 4 à 5 mm de long. Je n'avais pas tout de suite remarqué qu'il avait attrapé une chenille, mais il était curieux de se faire photographier et j'ai pu prendre quelques clichés :))
