The Monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll is a Benedictine monastery, built in the Romanesque style, located in the town of Ripoll in Catalonia, Spain. Although much of the present church in 19th century rebuilding, this majestic sculptured portal is a notable example of Catalan Romanesque sculpture.

Am 27. Dezember 2015 herrschte in der Gegend um Gemünden am Main den ganzen Tag dichter Nebel und auch in der Mittagszeit konnte die Sonne die Düsternis im Tal der Fränkischen Saale nicht auflösen. Es war ein Erlebnis bei der Hinfahrt von der Sonne in den Nebel und bei der Rückfahrt umgekehrt vom Nebel wieder in die Sonne zu gelangen.

On December 27, 2015 there was dense fog in the area around Gemünden all the day and even at high noon the sun could not resolve the gloom in the valley of the river Fränkische Saale. It was an experience on the outward journey to get from the sun into the fog and on the return from the fog into the sun again.

1990 erklärte die UNESCO die Schlösser und Parks von Potsdam und Berlin offiziell zum Welterbe.
Der Name "Sanssouci" (ohne Sorge) der Sommerresidenz Friedrichs II. von Preußen in Potsdam verrät den Wunsch des Königs nach Intimität und Einfachheit. Das auf den Weinbergterrassen 1745 bis 1747 erbaute Schloss ist der älteste Teil der Potsdamer Kulturlandschaft: ein eingeschossiger Bau, bestehend aus einer zentralen Rotunde, dem Marmorsaal, und aus zwei Seitenflügeln mit je fünf Zimmern.

In 1990 the UNESCO declared the palaces and parks of Potsdam and Berlin officially as World Heritage.
The name "Sanssouci" (without care) of the summer residence of Frederic II of Prussia in Potsdam reveals the desire of the king for intimacy and simplicity. The castle was built on vineyard terraces 1745-1747 and is the oldest part of the Potsdam cultural landscape: a single-storey building consisting of a central rotunda, the marble hall, and two side wings, each with five bedrooms.

I believe this is the Silvery Blue, Glaucopsyche lygdamus, but am always willing to be corrected. There were a large number of these and of Acmon Blues at a muddy spot in the road when this photo was taken. The road was a Forest Service road in Derby Canyon near Peshastin, Washington.

Took this photo while hiking with Tim in the area of Austin Pass near the Mount Baker Ski Area. This is Upper Bagley Lake and the trail we took is on the other side of the lake. We crossed the stream between this and Lower Bagley Lake and then hiked up toward Herman Saddle
