A group for images from the perspective of travellers. From places we visited that amazed us – because we discovered them with fresh eyes, free from everyday thoughts. This is about the special perspectives that only emerge while traveling: the unfamiliar that excites us and the small details that local eyes might overlook. To ensure the magic of these moments truly shines, we welcome images of good amateur quality, captured with care and passion.

Many people think of Sydney as Australia’s Capital, but it is not. The capital is Canberra, a small, purpose designed and built city in the Australian Capital Territory. It is inland, in the lower levels of the Snowy Mountain Range, with a population of around 400,000. With embassies, the head departments of all government agencies, and federal Parliament House, it is a city with lots af cultural and artistic facilities. I have lived here for only 6 years, but have become a real lover of it.

This is the remote Pamir Highway, one of the great adventure journeys of the world. Mostly a single lane, and often pitted and washed away, it crosses a huge high altitude wilderness from Tajikistan, to Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang in China. Very little traffic uses it, and human settlements are very scarce in this treeless, almost barren landscape weathered by bitter cold, deep snows and winter blizzards. Yaks are the only livestock hardy enough to survive here..and there are not many of them.
It was fabulous to traverse it! It took 2 full days to cross it!
Have a lovely weekend all!

This dramatic limestone gorge sits in the Western Tatras mountains and is famous for its stunning, narrow canyon carved out by a roaring mountain stream. Unlike many of the steep and rugged hiking trails in Slovakia, this valley is uniquely flat and gentle. Visitors walk along a scenic system of wooden footbridges and platforms built directly above the rushing water, making it a very accessible and safe way to experience wild, untouched European nature.

The hike is an easy, kid/friendly, three-hour loop that begins and ends at the thermal springs of Oravice, allowing you to combine a morning walk through the forest with an afternoon soak in naturally hot pools. The main gorge section is a protected nature reserve, meaning it is only open during the warmer months from mid-June to late October to protect local wildlife like eagles and mountain goats. It is the perfect introductory trip for newcomers to the region, offering a mix of dramatic rock cliffs, lush forests, and deep mountain history.
