A very large American Black Bear!&lt;br /&gt;
After spotting us the bear casually strolled away - unhurried or affected by our noise made to drive it off.&lt;br /&gt;

I knew Michael Veitch, (2nd from the right) the lead singer and guitarist, who gave me this signed photo of his band at the end of a show in Springfield, Vermont.&lt;br /&gt;

Sadly, our six year old grandson’s Elm tree snapped in two with the wind. (See below)&lt;br /&gt;
He’ll be sad to see it. &lt;br /&gt;
He’s been excited to watch it grow since planting it over three years ago.&lt;br /&gt;

Robert was one of four - and the only surviving child of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln.&lt;br /&gt;
According to Wiki, "The garden [At Hildene] is especially noted for its collection of over 1,000 herbaceous peonies.”&lt;br /&gt;
I took this photo on a visit to Hildene several years ago. &lt;br /&gt;
This is the back of the house.&lt;br /&gt;
