According to Wikipedia, "Clara Marian Wagner (1891-1961) was the first documented woman motorcyclist who became notable as an endurance racer and was sponsored by the Eclipse Machine Co., a bicycle company, for using its braking products. In 1907, Clara, aged 15 years old and the daughter of the Wagner Motorcycle Company (1901-1914) owner George Wagner from Saint Paul, Minnesota, became a member of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (FAM). Clara put the company's motorcycles on the map by achieving a perfect score in a FAM 360 mile endurance race from Chicago to Indianapolis in 1910, aged 18, but was denied the trophy because she was female."

In the early twentieth century, the Eclipse Machine Company published a series of advertising postcards like this one that featured exaggeratedly large women and men with correspondingly huge motorcyles and bicycles in ordinary-sized settings at locales in and around New York City (in this case, Coenties Slip is "a historic pedestrian walkway in Lower Manhattan"). The postcards were advertisements for the various types of motorcycle and bicycle brakes that the company manufactured.

Few and far-between are motorcycles without sidecars in Havana. Often with a spare wheel strapped on the back, and usually ridden with a pillion and one or two passengers in the sidecar, they are a common sight in downtown.

The last image of the recent "Motomania"-series. Probably for most of you it was a little bit boring, but I wanted to document all the bikes since 1972, which I never did before. Unfortunately there were two unforeseeable "events" in my life in 1990 and 2000, which forced me to sell almost all of these oldtimers. I'm always wonderung that this bike is already 51 years old. I imported it from the USA, a 1970 Honda CL 450 K3, 444 ccm, 43 PS, 175 km/h, very rare in Europe.

The DKW NZ 350 was produced by DKW from 1938 to 1943 in Zschopau, 346 ccm, 11 PS. The PiP shows the smaller model NZ 250, 247 ccm and 9 PS, built 1938. DKW means "DampfKraftWagen", later also "Des Knaben Wunsch" or "Das Kleine Wunder"! - scanned photos

One of my best bikes, easy to drive, a 1928 BMW R57 in the year 1988, occupied by one of my kids after eating a chololate ice obviously. The model is very rare and was built only from 1928 to 1929, 492 ccm, 18 PS, 115 km/h, 2-cyl. boxer OHV. I bought it in original condition and made only minor restorations. Sold to a museum in Styria. The PiP shows me during a winter rallye in 1987. - scanned slide, Minolta X700

My first motorcycle in November 1971, about 50 years ago - when I was seventeen, a 1938 BMW R51, 494 ccm, 24 PS, 140 km/h. I bought it for Austrian Schilling 1.800, earned by working during summer holidays in a paper factory. The image has been taken with a Kodak Instamatic 100 camera and is a scanned slide. The 2nd PiP shows the bike after finishing the "restoration" in Oct. 1972, about 50 years ago by the way. The movie "Easy Rider" was not long ago at that time ;-))

Das TOP Mountain Motorcycle Museum, ein Museum mit über 250 klassischen Motorrädern und Autos von über 100 Herstellern. Das älteste Exponat stammt aus dem Jahre 1894.
Das 3000m2 grosse Museum ist direkt bei der Mautstelle beim sogenannten „Top Mountain X-Crosspoint“. Die Zufahrt ab Hochgurgel ist bis hier mautfrei.
Ein Besuch lohnt sich, auch wenn man (wie ich) kein grosser Motorradfan ist.
Informationen z.B. unter TOP Mountain Motorcycle Museum oder bei Wikipedia usw.

Das Timmelsjoch (italienisch Passo del Rombo), ein Grenzpass zwischen Österreich (Tirol) und Italien (Südtirol) auf einer Höhe von etwa 2472 Metern über NN.
Auf dem Timmelsjoch verläuft die Grenze zwischen Österreich und Italien.
Die für den motorisierten Verkehr mautpflichtige, aber LKW-freie Strasse ist in der Regel von Mitte Juni bis Mitte Oktober von 7 bis 20 Uhr geöffnet.
