All kind of photos except of the following: Erotic, fetish, violence or other adult oriented content. Add a note to your picture to provide a magnified detail of your original image. This could be another shot, showing a closer view or another point of view as well. SORRY, with the new Ipernity rules it only works for Club-Members! Prepare two (or more) versions of your image: The complete view and a magnified detail. This detail should be up to a wide of 560 pixels. Upload both pictures to Ipernity. Go to the magnified picture go to the "View all sizes" - page ( you will find under "more options), chose the size you would like and copy the HTML-Code. Go to the complete picture and add a note paste the HTML-Code into the note and save it. That`s all. Have fun.

The site - located on a strategic point - was fortified against Scandinavian (Vikings) invasions. The castle was partly dismantled in the 12th and again in the 16th century by the governor of Normandy.

The ruins of the fortress retain the vestiges of a double wall whose enclosure was occupied by farming activities. The interior defence is formed by thick high walls reinforced by towers built on a rocky outcrop and surrounded by ditches.

I was lucky when taking the pictures. On Google Maps, it looks as though the farm buildings are the castle. But when I walked onto the grounds to ask the owner for permission to take photos, I was invited on a private tour – complete with a detailed explanation of the history – to the ruins of the original castle.

Most probably there was already a church here in the 6th century. This is because a Bishop of Lisieux existed around that time. A previous cathedral, built in the Romanesque style, was unfortunately burned down in 1136. The basic shape of the church, especially the front part, stayed the same. Rebuilding of the cathedral started around 1160. In 1226, another fire damaged the cathedral. During the repairs three small chapels were added to the back of the church.

Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Lisieux survived World War II completely unharmed. This is quite amazing, as the town of Lisieux itself suffered from allied bombing in 1944.

I struggled to find a contribution because among those not yet published and the ones already published but that I love the choise was a hard decision to make.

Subject:
The kids a little shy and asking themselves who were those 5 people with cameras coming out of a 4WD.

Context:
Bahlil, a lost village in Marroco.

Moment:
4 of us outside, another parking the 4WD, the kid on the left was looking at it.

Emotion:
Just after more kids gathered, we had pencils, notebooks and treats for them, but for me this moment of surprise and interrogation was the most emotional, the seconds preceeding the first contact.

Another photo, the one I love the most from my trip there is the following one, already published here :

The girl is talking to her grandfather. The fence is to protect Volubilis ruins, not to allow people or cattle to enter the site freely. The man is the official guide of the site, the girl was bringing the donkey home, they had a chat... we can feel love there.
Friedrich I. (1657–1713), auch „König in Preußen” genannt.
