Balfron Tower was designed by Ernő Goldfinger in 1963 for the London County Council, built 1965-67 by the GLC, and has been a Grade II listed building since 1996.

This was the last photo I was able to take with my trusty Canon G11 before it gasped its last breath. It served me well for over 4 years. R.I.P.

I was on a mission to find the real "Nonnatus House," where the nuns and midwives in "Call the Midwife" really lived. I'd done tons of research to track it down. When I arrived here with my broken camera, I was so desperate to have a few snaps to show for it that I turned the camera on for a try -- the camera came back to life for these few photos.
