A profusion of hollyhocks grows along a south-facing wall near where I live. On warm summer evenings I go there to photograph the flowers, and with some luck, the bees that visit them. This is an aggressive crop showing a bee at work. They move quickly, so there are many more misses than successful shots.

One of the things I like about traveling on the Prairies is the ability to find the horizon line easily, unless you are in a blizzard or a tornado. It had been raining on the way to visit a farm near Lafleche, Saskatchewan, but it had stopped when I took this image looking roughly west down a grid road.

A favourite location of mine at sunrise. This country church north of Regina is at a location called Foxleigh, although it is surrounded by farm fields and a few houses scattered here and there along the grid roads.

This is a favourite stop whenever I am in the vicinity of Scotsgard, Saskatchewan. This rainbow arch bridge is one of about 90 that were built around the province in the 1920s and 1930s, although most were only one or two arches. The bridge spans a creek and a rail line, and was part of Highway 13. It was raining lightly when I took this, standing at the edge of the current route of the highway.

My naturalist app tells me this bird is likely a shoveler. It was causing on a wetland - a slough in Prairie parlance - near Silton, Saskatchewan. Some discarded hay at the edge of the slough made for some nice reflections.
