Nestled in the forest, this tiny church lies in a bend of the River Leyre and is the only remnant of the village of Lugo.
The oldest parts of the church, such as the choir and the nave, date back to the 11th or 12th century. The current bell tower dates back to the 15th century.

On the north façade, at the foot of the tower, there was an opening that is now bricked up, the so-called ‘Porte des Cagots’, which according to local legend allowed excommunicated people and lepers to attend church services.

Traces of frescoes are visible along the nave.
