Starting with the re-assembly by the laying out the cill and floor supports in the museum at Ravenglass, the floor was not quite as flat and level as planned. Note the intruding ironwork.

Almost the final stage of repairing the old end arch. There is a little bit more final shaping left to do in order to match the proper profile. As the amount of new wood shows, it had been modified, probably more than once, after leaving the 3ft gauge R&E Railway in 1915.

The six original roof sticks at the start of restoration work, including the three which were attached to some roof planking (which has been retained, although it was too weak to be re-used).

The original door and the "for sale" section resting against the workshop wall. Some significant cleaning and sanding has taken place, as well as some initial repairs. The planking section stored behind them may well be determined to be too fragile for public display, a decision will be made shortly.

The now empty van is about to head off back to Haltwhistle. All the "Big Saloon" replica components are in the building, ready for work to start.
Many thanks to the guys who stayed back to help unload - we were significantly delayed arriving. Our route was severely disrupted by excessively long diversions from multiple road work closures (which were not co-ordinated).

Before the seats and floor are stained, varnished and finally secured in position, there is the little matter of providing the power supply to a display unit, which is now to be located at the end of the bench on the right, so cables / socket go under the floor.

Cleaning out the cill grooves before putting up the end section. (Made a minor modification for safety reasons, ie slightly recessing the bottom plank into the cill)

Almost all the floor planks are laid and the side sections are arriving. Some are lighter than others and need the cant rail and roof sticks to maintain proper positioning.

One of two pairs of grab rails for either side of the doors. These replicas were produced by a local blacksmith, and will be turned gloss black before installation.

Progression on fitting the seats, now we have the legs.
The actual height we have evidence for, a shadow on one of the original side section. The only description we have is of a narrow bench around the sides.
