The cinema is the work of architects Émile Thion and Marcel Rousseau.

From 2017 to 2019, the cinema was rebuilt approximately one kilometer to the northeast. This resulted in a larger and more modern multiplex cinema with eleven screens.

In 2021, an apartment building was constructed on the site of the former cinema, necessitating the partial demolition of the old cinema, although the listed facade was largely preserved.
Over the years, I have already added many photos taken in and around the stunning Reims Cathedral. I will not be adding any more.

Thanks to a donation of 200,000 gold francs from Auguste Subé (1807 –1899), a native of Reims, the fountain was constructed and crowned with a bronze statue.

It was inaugurated in 1906
Basilique Notre-Dame, located in a village (pop. ~600), is about 59 metres long. Here is the nave. On the 17th-century rod screen is the red and yellow "umbraculum", one of the symbols bestowed by the pope, when he elevated the church to the rank of a "basilica minor". Below is a replica of the miraculous statue of the Virgin. According to a legend the statue was found by shepherds in the Middle Ages in a burning thorn bush.

Now I knew about the flamboyant Gothic basilica - and it is still baffling to approach it.

The large statues of the portals were destroyed during the French Revolution. At that time both towers had the same height of 55 metres but the spire of the northern tower was demolished in 1789 in order to build an optical telegraph for the Strasbourg-Paris route. The tower was rebuilt in 1868. Fortunately, the operators of the telegraph had stored most of the spire. So only one floor was lost

Since 1099 the relics of Saint Remi are kept here. Remi was the bishop of Reims who baptised Clovis, King of the Franks, in 496.

The abbey developed well and got very important. Charlemagne received Pope Leo III here. It was one of the richest convents in what is France today during the 9th century. From 780 to 945 the archbishops of Reims served as its abbots. Over centuries the "Holy Ampulla", holding the held the anointing oil for the coronation of the kings of France, was kept here. During the French Revolution the glass vial was publicly destroyed.

The present basilica was the abbey church. The shrine, holding the relics of Saint Remi, is placed in the center of the choir, erected 1162-1181, when Peter Cellensis (= "Pierre de Celle") was abbot here.

The shrine is covered with graffiti.

The present basilica was the abbey church, that was consecrated by Pope Leo IX in 1049. The towers of the facade are 56m high. While the right one dated back to the 11th century, the right one is the result of a 19th century restauration.
