The Butterfly House in the Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo was recently transformed into a spring wonderland. Amaryllis, Hyacinth, Primula and other flowers have been planted to give Zoo visitors a very welcome taste of spring. At least we are now into February!

One of the gorgeous, huge Amaryllis flowers that are blooming in the Butterfly House at the Calgary Zoo. I stand in awe each time I see that room. It is a mass of brilliant spring colours. An absolute joy on a cold winter's day. Judging by the weather forecast, it sounds as if another Zoo visit will be in order next week - down to -23C!
