The Angels Flight funicular, in downtown Los Angeles (see details with nearby picture). Though the upper station of the funicular is at a plaza of a very modern office building, just below that is a very unkempt park-like space off a housing complex.

The Angels Flight funicular, in downtown Los Angeles. The funicular was originally built in 1901, was closed from 1996 to 2001, and then reopened at a nearby site. Though the roadbed is modern, the cars are the originals.
