The last of the 74 built retired from civilian service in 1991.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It could carry up to 69 troops, 54 paratroopers, 48 stretcher cases or 29,000 lb (13,000 kg) of cargo&lt;br /&gt;
Distinguishing features were a large nose door opening to the side, and a twin tail boom configuration.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The story behind the unusual red stripe was that this plane was meant to go into a crew training scheme, which was then abandoned, but the livery wasn't changed back to that of the Transport Command.&lt;br /&gt;
