On Sunday Bastian once more won the Best In Show (housecat) at the Darak cat show in Vallensbæk. Judge Flavia Capra fell for his round tomcat face, just as we did when we first saw him at the shelter...

The winning moment caught on camera... Posted for the "Happy Caturday" theme "If your cat were a famous person".

Today Bastian was at the Darak cat show in Vallensbæk. First he competed against 3 other male "house cats" and judge Elena Zagorskaya declared him the winner. At the stage show he met the winning female, Miss Bilka, who was World Winner 2013 and still wins most of her shows.
It ended in a tie, so Boris Lupan was called in as a referee judge and he chose Bastian for Best In Show. A great feather in his cap... :)

On Saturday Bastian was at Katteklubben's cat show in Rishøjhallen, Køge, where judge Ad de Bruijn once more awarded him Best Housecat (mixed breed) for his temperament and coat condition.

Yesterday our shelter adoptee Bastian was at Racekatten cat show in Nærum to pick up the club's Top Cat award for being the Best Housecat (mixed breed) in 2016.
The Somalis stayed at home, but Caithlin was awarded three prizes for her achievements in the previous season: No.1 Veteran (all breeds, shared 1st), No.2 Category IV (male/female, fertile/neuter) and No.5 Neuter (all categories).
On the table Bastian once more performed flawlessly and the judge Lene Glem loved his looks and personality. She awarded him Best In Show housecat (mixed breed), but also recommended that he should not gain any more weight.. ;)

Not my cat, but the amazing German Rex cat "Kaiser vom Hause Hamann", who won Best In Show (Gr.IV male) at the show in Strøby on both Saturday and Sunday.

The curly German Rex breed is still fairly new to Scandinavia, so my friends Miiaa Gråsten and Kevin Prahl of One World cattery in Malmö were of course over the Moon with joy.

On Saturday Bastian won his 5th Best In Show for Housecats (mixed breeds). The judge Ad De Bruijn really appreciated his personality and nominated him as best male for the panel. And on stage he took first over a lovely tortie female.

On Sunday Bastian did not win nomination, but ended as an honorable runner-up after the very seasoned show cat Gold Nugget. Only fair as both are equally good cats - and also because Nugget's owner has announced his retirement from the shows after a great career.

Caithlin is a bit tired of shows at the moment, so I only took her there on Saturday. She won her 9th CAPS certificate, so now she needs just two more for the Supreme Premier title, but we will take it slow...

The Swedish FIFé judge Hans G. Lindberg has unexpectedly died on November 21st 2016. The cat world will gratefully remember him for fair judging and for his evident love for every cat he handled. RIP, Hans.

A great show weekend

This weekend Bastian and Caithlin has been to Racekatten's two-day show in Køge, Denmark - and both has done extremely well.

On both days Bastian won Best In Show for Housecats (mixed breeds). The judges Britta Busse on Saturday and Veikko Saarela on Sunday fell for his good looks and charming personality. Bastian now has 4 BIS wins in 5 international FIFé shows - pretty impressive career for a cat, who started last year at the age of 5½...

Caithlin won her CAPS certificates and was nominated for the stage show on both days - Saturday by Jørgen Billing and Sunday by Glen Sjöbom. On Saturday she came second on stage to a wonderful Devon Rex, but Sunday she won her 8th Best in Show (Group IV neuter female).
Jørgen Billing also awarded her Best Best Veteran (Gr.IV) on Sunday, so all in all we won 4 trophies and 16 kg of dry food... :)
