There was a saying on the CLW campus - If you can see Pen Dinas [marked by the stone column] it is going to rain, if you can't, it is already raining. {More of a comment on Welsh weather !}

Looking up from Llanbadarn towards what was the College of Librarianship campus. The local area is much more developed than it was, even with the demolition of the "Halls" on campus a few years ago.

Assuming I've got my landmarks lined up - The halls of residence for CLW were on the ridge above & to the right of the green buildings. [see note] Sadly demolished a few years ago.

The CLW student's social block.
Contained the refectory (middle floor) the bar was on the lowest floor. Other facilities included a shop, launderette and the student's union offices.

This was taken in 2019, and externally the block looks to be in poor condition.

This block contained CLW's administration services, the tutor's offices and some seminar rooms. The main lecture theatre was in another building.

Not sure what happens here now, as CLW has been relocated.

The "valley" side of Aeron Hall (taken on a sneaky visit in 1996).
This eastern end of Aeron usually had agrics with librarians at the western end.

Aeron hall of residence is in the background. To the right is the refectory, social centre and student's union (the "bar" was downstairs). To the left is the CLW campus library with the teaching facilities behind that.
Halls were closed in 2007 and subsequently demolished.

Note: the site was shared with the agricultural students - their halls and teaching facilities were much further to the left (East in this view).

I paid another visit in 2019, and really wish I hadn't; the campus was terribly run down and neglected, with bits falling off the SU building.

I did a post-grad Librarianship Diploma here, in 1981/2. My room was in Aeron - A74 - which was on the top floor, but facing across the valley towards Pen Dinas and with a skylight facing the quad. This is the inner quadrangle view, looking west, almost towards the refectory / students union. It was taken in 1996 on a sneaky return visit. I think that A74 would be, roughly, above the gap between the two nearest cars.
