As I composed this shot, I was very much aware of the work of John A King who does this kind of thing very well so I hope he will accept this as a little tribute. The view east across Aldermaston Lock follows the Kennet & Avon Canal under the road carried by the Alder Bridge and to Aldermaston Wharf in the distance.

Seen at Aldermaston Lock on the Kennet & Avon Canal, 'Rainbow Runner' stands out dramatically amongst the more familiar narrow boats in this shot. I have not garnered a lot of information but I think she is a Dutch canal boat now used as a houseboat. Any additional information would be welcomed.

Seen at Aldermaston Lock on the Kennet & Avon Canal, 'Rainbow Runner' stands out dramatically amongst the more familiar narrow boats. I have not garnered a lot of information but I think she is a Dutch canal boat now used as a houseboat. Any additional information would be welcomed.

A lone swan patrols the waters around the narrow boats 'The Blue' and 'Ichthus' which were moored below Aldermaston Lock on the Kennet & Avon Canal.

England in the summer is probably nowhere more pleasant than on its canals. In this view, the narrow boat 'Emily' is seen with many others at Aldermaston on the Kennet & Avon Canal.
