Zur Zeit blühen in vielen Gärten wieder die Christrosen (Helleborus niger). Gestern habe ich nach einem kurzen Regenschauer eine Nahaufnahme einer Blüte mit seitlicher Perspektive angefertigt. Man sieht im Zentrum die Stempel, die von vielen Staubblättern umgeben sind. An der Basis der Blüte befinden sich zahlreiche Nektarien (in der Notiz im Bild wird ein einzelnes Nektarium gezeigt), in denen Bienen und Hummeln ein konzentrierter Zuckersaft angeboten wird.

At the moment, the Christmas roses (Helleborus niger) are blooming again in many gardens. Yesterday, after a short rain shower, I took a close-up of a flower with a lateral perspective. You can see the pistils in the centre, surrounded by many stamens. At the base of the flower are numerous nectaries (the note in the picture shows a single nectary) offering a concentrated sugar juice to bees and bumblebees.
