‘Local’ in this instance meaning a journey of approx 162 miles and around 2 and a half hours.

Stranger in the camp; First Trans Pennine Express EMU 350406 paired up with London Midland Trains 350373 pass Heald Green with 1M96 1109 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport. The London Midland unit is one of two Class 350 EMUs on loan to First TPE, to cover for units out of service.

The new look of First TPE Inter Regional services. Beginning in May of this year, the First Trans Pennine Express services between Manchester Airport and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh have been worked by the new fleet of 10 4 car Class 350 EMUs, replacing the 3 car Class 185 DMUs, with a departure every hour from Manchester Airport, alternating between the two destinations.
Here we see 350408 rolling through Heald Green with 1M95 1008 from Edinburgh, with just about 2 miles to go to its destination of Manchester Airport.
