Clinton Cards was a high-profile casualty but part of the business re-emerged as the smartly branded Clintons. My first sight of the new image, which is still being rolled out, was in Bedford's Silver Street where a large store stands between that street and Hawes Court. There was further interest in the form of the building it occupies which dates from 1848. In this view of the corner of Hawes Court and Harpur Street, the words 'Goods Entrance' can be seen above what once would have been a door.
