&lt;br /&gt;
The station opened in 1865 and was closed by British Railways in 1966 along with the entire line west from Keswick. It has since been totally renovated and reopened as a Café and Special Events Venue. In 2019 a replica French-style steam locomotive with Wagons-Lits carriages used in the 2017 film of Murder on the Orient Express were installed on the site as part of a tourist development.&lt;br /&gt;

I had journeyed up to Carnforth on the special train on the West Coast Main Line from London Euston that morning. The train was taken over by LNWR Hardwicke &amp; Flying Scotsman and Hardwicke stayed on until Ulverston where 1306 took over.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
