Hala Sultan Tekke is a mosque on the shores of Larnaca Salt Lake. Umm Haram – also known as Hala Sultan – was an aunt of the Prophet Muhammad. When the Arabs conquered Cyprus in 647, she fell from her mule and lost her life. She was buried on the spot, and her grave gradually became a place of pilgrimage. In 1760, Sheikh Hassan began building a mosque. Since 1816, the Hala Sultan Tekke complex has consisted of a mosque, a mausoleum and a cemetery.

Hala Sultan Tekke is also an archaeological site. In the second half of the 2nd millennium BC, the grounds of the Hala Sultan Tekke were used as a cemetery by the inhabitants of a large Late Cypriot city located just a few hundred metres further west. In the late 19th century, numerous graves from the Late Bronze Age (c. 1650–1100 BC) were uncovered, containing rich grave goods.

Recent radar surveys have shown that this city was one of the largest settlements of the Late Bronze Age (c. 1600–1100 BC). Further archaeological investigations have also brought to light architectural remains dating to the Late Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic periods (6th to 1st century BC).

Larnaca - Bekir Pasha Aqueduct

The Bekir Pasha Aqueduct is located just outside the city. It was built between 1747 and 1750 and supplied Larnaca with fresh water for nearly two centuries. It consisted of a total of 93 sheets. Of these, 75 are still preserved today. It bears the name Bekir Pasha because the aqueduct was paid for by Ebubekir Pasha, the Ottoman beylerbey of Cyprus at that time.

In the Municipal Market Hailos Agrofarm is still open in the evening, though there are not too many customers around at that time.

The minaret of the Djami Kebir Mosque is also known as the Great Mosque.

This is probably the first Ottoman mosque in Cyprus; originally, from the 13th to the 14th century, the building was a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Catherine. Recent excavations have uncovered traces of an even older church here, dating back to the 10th/11th century

Larnaca Castle is located at the end of the Finikoudes Promenade. As early as the 12th century, the Lusignans erected a fortress here. During the reign of James I, between 1382 and 1388, the fortress was expanded into a more substantial castle.

In the 18th century, the castle lost its significance and was abandoned. During British rule, the castle was used as a prison. During the Cypriot Civil War, Greek Cypriots held the castle and also used it as a prison.

Following Cyprus' independence, the castle was repurposed as a museum.
