They make wonderful photography subjects and in 2012 I decided to take pictures of the buds as they grew and finally bloomed. There are 9 pictures in all, so I will post one each day with the hopes that you don't get too bored by the same subject. Being so small, I nearly missed it, but this bright blossom caught my eye. Although the top was a bit burned from the sun,  the markings on the petals were so pretty that it made up for the scorching on top.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

A couple of weeks ago I shared a picture of a pink bachelor button blossom that I rescued from a ground squirrel. I was especially upset because it was the first pink flower and I was so excited to see it bloom. Happily, there were many flowers that did survive long enough for me to take pictures and appreciate how pretty they were.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Finding this itty bitty baby crab spider trying to be invisible on a stem of dried grass brought out a chorus of coos from me. I was especially happy because the sun was at just the right angle to make its translucent body glow. Finally, I added a texture to the background to give it a bit more interest.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
