View to the Dachstein Mountains from the summit terminal of the Dachstein-Südwand cable car. Here you are at an altitude of 2,687 metres. The exposed south wall, which rises from the scree cirque, has a height of 800 metres. The view over the handrail into the depths takes some getting used to.

Blick auf das Dachsteingebirge von der Bergstation der Dachstein-Südwandbahn. Man befindet sich hier auf einer Höhe von 2.687 Metern. Die freie Südwand, die sich aus dem Schuttkar erhebt, hat eine Höhe von 800 Metern. Der Blick über das Geländer in die Tiefe ist 'gewöhnungsbedürftig'.

The Dachstein Suspension Bridge spans 100 metres over a 400-metre-deep abyss. It leads to the entrance of an accessible ice cave located in the Dachstein glacier and to the Stairway to Nowhere.

On the balcony of the Dachstein South Wall Cableway. There is room for 10 passengers who are brave enough to be transported without a protective screen.

Finally a high altitude tour again! The picture shows the long rope bridge in the via ferrata "Koppenkarstein Westgrat" in the Dachstein massif near Schladming (Styria, Austria). The via ferrata leads from the entrance at an altitude of 2,620 metres to the summit of the Koppenkarstein (2,863 m).

Endlich mal wieder eine Hochtour! Im Bild zu sehen ist die lange Seilbrücke im Klettersteig "Koppenkarstein Westgrat" im Dachstein-Massiv bei Schladming (Steiermark, Österreich). Der Steig führt vom Einstieg in 2.620 Metern Höhe auf den Gipfel des Koppenkarstein (2.863 m).

The Dachstein Mountains, photographed from the summit ridge to Rippetegg at about 1,980 metres above sea level. The summit ridge can be reached either by hiking from the Gasselhöhe mountain station on the Reiteralm near Schladming (Styria, Austria), or by climbing via the Franzi via ferrata.

Das Dachstein-Gebirge, fotografiert vom Gipfelgrat zum Rippetegg auf ca. 1.980 Metern Seehöhe. Man erreicht den Gipfelgrat entweder wandernd von der Bergstation Gasselhöhe auf der Reiteralm bei Schladming (Steiermark, Österreich), oder kletternd über den Franzi-Klettersteig.

The highest rope bridge of Austria, situated at approx. 2.700 m of altitude underneath the summit of the Dachstein (2.995m, Styria, Austria). This bridge hasn't any serious function. It has been established for the amusement of tourist only.
