The Fire Station closed in 2020 and was about to be demolished. It was instead bought by a local who used to be a fireman based there. It is now a thriving bar and brewery.

This beautiful bronze sculpture, by Janis Ridley, stands in the garden of Matthews Hall on the Main Street in Topsham, Devon. It was commissioned in 2000 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the Topsham Charter.

Topsham has a maritime history tied to the 17th and 18th-century wool trade with the Netherlands. Many of its buildings were constructed by wealthy merchants using small Dutch bricks imported as ship ballast, and some have Dutch style gables like this one at the waterside.

A spotted this red telephone box in Topsham, Devon.........an increasingly rare sight nowadays.

Viewed large you can see that the box has been seriously neglected, which for me, made it very photogenic..!!

Another view across the estuary at low tide. It's amazing how quickly the light changed from yesterday's shot, considering this one was taken only around 20 mins later and only a short distance in the other direction.

The river Exe estuary in Exmouth is only around a 10 min walk from my daughter's house and ideal for a stroll between rain showers. At low tide you can see the vast expanse of sand and mud and the threatening clouds are still hanging around.

Captured in 16:9 format, so best viewed large.

Situated near the seafront, the Maer Local Nature Reserve is perfect for a quiet walk away from the busy beaches and town. It is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the odd dinosaur apparently.

I'm back.............just in case anyone noticed I haven't been around :-)))
I'll try and catch up, even if it just means leaving yellow stars on your photos.

This was taken during a long walk around the River Otter Estuary, which has recently been re-wilded and developed into a beautiful salt-marsh environment. It is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

This was taken in The Strand in the centre of Exmouth, Devon. My wife had disappeared into one of the shops and I took the opportunity to sit in the sunshine and listen to this chap playing. He was very good and gathered quite an audience.
