The ship DUKE OF NORMANDY II was built in 1934 for the German Customs service and was originally called 'Ems' after a varied history she was sold in 1975 to the British Waterways Board where she was used on the Caledonian Canal to tow the gate-lifter barge around.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
She is now on the National Historic ships list,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
