The valley, called "Großer Ahornboden" in Tyrol (Austria), captured in October of 2015. The sycamore maple trees are up to 500 yeras old.

Der Große Ahornboden im Risstal (Tirol, Österreich), aufgenommen im Oktober 2015. Die Bergahornbäume dort sind bis zu 500 Jahre alt.
(Wieder so ein Foto, wofür man sie in die Kuhfladen legen darf.)

View from Hohljoch (1.794m) to the Laliderer Mountains (several summits, each one a little bit higher than 2.600m). See PiP to discover the Falkenhütte (1.848m).

Blick vom Hohljoch (1.794m) rüber zu den Lalidererwänden, deren Gipfel alle knapp über 2.600 m hoch sind. Rechts unten - im "goldenen Schnitt" -die Falkenhütte (1.848m). In dieser Höhe hat der Winter bereits Einzug gehalten.

Since 30 yers the tree population has been reforested with new trees.
(Right-hand you may see the trail, which the runners of the Karwendel Hike used six weeks ago. See PiP.)

Seit 30 Jahren wird der Baumbestand in diesem Naturschutzgebiet gezielt wieder aufgeforstet.
(Rechts im Bild der Trail, den die Läufer beim Karwendelmarsch vor sechs Wochen herunter kamen. Siehe auch PiP.)

One of the oldest sycamore maple trees within the upper Riss Valley (Großer Ahornboden, Karwendel Mountains, Austria)
(If you look attentively, you may see snow falls coming down from the mountains. Behind the tree you see the Grubenkarspitze (2.663m).)
