The Centre Loewenberg is a training centre of the Swiss Federal Railways near Murten in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is located on the estate of Schloss Löwenberg, a historic country estate. It was opened in 1983 and offers various railway-specific training facilities as well as premises and infrastructure for training and conferences.
Built under the supervision of Fritz Haller (the inventor of the USM furnishing system), it is one of the main works of the Solothurn architectur school.
What we see here is the view down into the atrium of one of the two residential pavilions.

Das Stahlskelettbau-System MIDI in Kombination mit dem Installations-System ARMILLA von => Fritz Haller, am Beispiel vom SBB Ausbildungszentrum in Murten.
Entwickelt in den 1970ern.
Ausgehend von der Erkenntnis, dass die globalisierte Gesellschaft sich nicht mehr den Luxus einer teuren, unflexiblen und sich abschottenden Denkmalmentalität leisten könne, sah Haller in der Nutzbarmachung industrieller Montagemethoden eine Möglichkeit, in ständigem Ab- und Aufbau die Hülle des Arbeitens und Wohnens nach den jeweiligen funktionalen Ansprüchen zu definieren. Dies führte zu den drei Systemen Maxi (ab 1963), Mini (ab 1969) und Midi (ab 1980), die seither international nicht nur im Industrie-, sondern auch im Schulhaus- und in vereinzelten Fällen sogar im Wohnbau (Mini) verwendet wurden.

Fritz Haller war auch massgeblich beteiligt an der Entwicklung des USM Haller Möbelsystems, das eine weltweite Bekanntheit erlangte.
