Evening atmosphere on the northern shore of Lake Garda (Trentino, Italy). The surfers have brought their boards into the dry. Most of the tourists are making their way to a restaurant. A few enjoy the silence on the shore.

The Gran Torino (to the Video-Stream, 2008 with Clint Eastwood) has apparently been reborn as a sailboat, and the neighbourhood is also Asian again (the Hmong family in the film). Hopefully everything will go well in this reincarnation.

Golden Rain (Laburnum anagyroides). It is found everywhere in the Garda region as a wild plant and is very poisonous in all parts of the plant. In Germany, it is one of the plants that the poison information centres have to deal with most frequently.

The main poisonous ingredient, cytisine, is approved as a tobacco cessation agent in Austria and Germany. It acts on the same receptors as nicotine without being addictive. (At the beginning of the 19th century, laburnum leaves were also used as a tobacco substitute. However, because it was not addictive, the tobacco industry could not make money with it).

Seen during the descent from Cima Capi.

Gemeiner Goldregen (Laburnum anagyroides). Er begegnet einem in der Gardaseeregion überall als Wildpflanze und ist in allen Pflanzenteilen sehr giftig. In Deutshcland gehört er zu den Pflanzen, mit denen sich die Giftinformationszentralen am häufigsten beschäftigen müssen.

Der giftige Haupt-Inhaltsstoff Cytisin ist als 'Asmoken' in Österreich und Deutschland als Tabakentwöhnungsmittel zugelassen. Er wirkt nämlich auf dieselben Rezeptoren wie Nikotin, ohne süchtig zu machen. (Anfang des 19ten Jahrunderts wurden Blätter des Goldregens auch als Tabakersatz verwendet. Weil er nicht süchtig machen, konnte die Tabakindistrie damit jedoch kein Geld verdienen.)

Such motifs overwhelm even smartphones, which are actually unbeatable in terms of depth of field. A little trick helps: take two shots with different focus points. Photoshop does the merging. You can get the brilliance into the picture with Luminar Ai.

Solche Motive überfordern alle Kameras, sogar Smartphones, die im Hinblick auf Tiefenschärfe eigentlich unschlagbar sind. Da hilft ein kleiner Trick: zwei Aufnahmen mit unterschiedlichem Fokuspunkt. Das Zusammenführen erledigt Photoshop. Die Brillianz bekommt man mit Luminar Ai.

I wish all ipernity friends a happy Pentecost (German: 'Pfingstfest'). Make sure you're home in time for the thunderstorm today and have an Aperol ready (or whatever you like).

(The picture was taken after the descent from Cima Capi. We just made it before the rain started. To achieve the depth of field, 2 shots were necessary, see PiP. I only ordered the Aperol for the photo. But it tasted good anyway).

Ich wünsche allen ipernity-Freunden ein frohes Pfingstfest. Schaut, dass ihr heute rechtzeitig vor dem Gewitter zu Hause seid und ein Aperol bereit steht (oder was immer ihr mögt).

(Das Bild entstand nach dem Abstieg vom Cima Capi. Wir haben es gerade noch geschafft, bevor der Regen einsetzte. Um die Schärfentiefe zu erreichen, waren 2 Aufnahmen erforderlich, siehe PiP. Den Aperol hab ich nur für das Foto bestellt. Geschmeckt hat er dennoch.)

Straight ahead or to the right. Both paths lead to the top. But you should plan on 6 hours and take enough water with you.

It looks idyllic. But in summer temperatures, you really work up a sweat. Better to forego breakfast and start early. (Taken during the one-and-a-half-hour ascent to the actual Via Ferrata Fausto Susatti , which leads to Cima Capi.)

Das sieht idyllisch aus. Aber bei sommerlichen Temperaturen kommt man ordentlich ins Schwitzen. Besser auf das Frühstück verzichten und früh starten. (Aufgenommen während des anderthalbstündigen Zustiegs zum eigentlichen Klettersteig Via Ferrata Fausto Susatti , der auf den Cima Capi führt.)
