"Genießer-Klettersteig der Extraklasse - kaum zu glauben, dass an dieser mächtigen Felswand die Schwierigkeit den C-Grad nicht übersteigt! Das Rezept ist eine gelungene Kombination aus sehr guter Routenführung und 98 soliden Tritthilfen - immer dort, wo es schwerer wird steht man auf Eisenbügeln und klettert unbeschwert über die ein oder andere ausgesetzte Passage hinweg. (But the 16mm focal length better expresses the feeling, which grips you there. Even hardcore mountaineers hold theirs breath whem looking down there.)

Die Schlüsselstelle des Klettersteigs Geierwand in Tirol (Österreich) mit 24 mm KB-Äquivalent fotografiert, statt mit 16 mm. Diese Brennweite gibt die Realität besser wieder.
(Die 16mm-Brennweite drückt aber eher das Gefühl aus, das einen dort oben beschleicht. Selbst abgebrühten Kletterern stockt an der Stelle beim Runterschauen der Atem.)

A friend of mine, ascending the fixed rope route Geierwand near Haiming (Tyrol, Austria) last summer. He was 69 at that time. (The picture shows the entry of the via ferrata. Although it's completely vertical there, the difficulty is classified as "B" only, because of the many iron steps, which facilitate the ascent enormously.)

Ein Freund beim Aufstieg in der Geierwand bei Haiming (Tirol, Österreich) im vergangenen Sommer. Er war zu der Zeit 69 Jahre alt und auch schon mit auf der Zugspitze. (Das Bild zeigt die Einstiegsstelle des Klettersteigs. Obwohl es hier völlig senkrecht hoch geht, ist diese Stelle nur mit "B" klassifiziert, weil die Menge des verbauten Eisens den Aufstieg ziemlich einfach macht.)

A wonderful early summer day in the Geierwand *) near Haiming (Tyrol, Austria). This climbing wall is located west of Innsbruck. Below in the Inn valley the river, the apple orchards and the highway leading from Kufstein to Bregenz and Switzerland.

Ein wundervoller Frühsommertag in der Geierwand bei Haiming (Tirol, Österreich). Diese Kletterwand befindet sich westlich von Innsbruck. Unten im Inntal der Fluss, die Apfelplantagen und die Autobahn, die von Kufstein kommend nach Bregenz und in die Schweiz führt.
