When I visit my friends in Detmold, they have sometimes already made a list of vending machines that I don't know yet. They really have an eye for these machines.

I really loved these machines when I was a kid. The gumballs sold here, were the very best for bubblegum bubbles. Unfortunately, my parents neither liked bubblegum nor these machines...

The preserved areas of Lübeck's old town, located on an island of the Trave river, with over a thousand cultural monuments have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1987. This is Germany´s most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I do hope, that this gumball machine is part of it.

Though chewing gum is still popular, these vending machines are only rarely seen meanwhile. I know this machine already for some years, but it gets a new "decoration" now and then.

Though chewing gum is still popular, these vending machines are only rarely seen meanwhile. I was surprised to find a couple of them in Berlin, but this one was obviously temporarily out of business.

Looks like the kids in Sassenhausen, a small village that is now part of Bad Berleburg, still love the oldfashioned bubble gum. But obviously "Heavy Metal Fingerrings" for 1 Euro are the "must haves" here.

Since 1969 the village Kirchveischede is incorporated into the Lennestadt. Th village has a population of less than 1000 - and a gumball machine.

This vending machine is located near the entrance of a funeral parlor. After a long marketing research the chewing gum company opted for this place. I have no idea why.
