I'm digging into my archives today, not so much because I haven't taken any recent photos, but more because I came across these photos when backing up a few more old files. Actually, I haven't taken many photos recently - just not been seeing a whole lot on our walks, especially close enough for photos. This little female House Sparrow was hanging around at the Calgary Zoo when I went there on 25 September 2012.

Not the sort of photo I like, but I so rarely see a House Finch that is within camera distance : ) This was taken along a residential street next to Carburn Park two days ago. This male was such a beautiful colour - and yes, we actually had blue sky, which felt so good! Very heavily cropped : )
