It's really sad to know that it's gone and somebody just tore it down instead of living in it. It was a nice house.

A couple weeks ago, he got a couple in, but they weren't deep enough. I want to put my big tv on top of it so I can watch it in bed. I stopped by Saturday morning and he had just gotten in another one. He said it wasn't in the greatest of shape, but it was all wood and solid. I ended up getting it for a mere $25! That was exactly the price range I was looking for! It did need a little work - some of the drawers stuck and a few of the joints had come undone. I got it home in the back of my station wagon and went to work on it. I sanded down the sliding edge of each drawer and now they work perfectly, then got out the wood glue and fixed some of the drawers that had fallen apart. Now it's solid and I think it looks pretty good.

I let the wood glue dry overnight and on Sunday morning I filled it up with my clothes. This morning, (Monday), I had my tv on top of it and hooked it all up so that it works now. I brought a vcr into the room to play some of my tapes through it.

I cleaned out the fireplace today and got it all ready to go. Then my neighbor Sue is getting a new coffee table and gave me the one she had. I think it looks nice where I put it. My living room is a comfortable place to hang out in - I can read comfortably on the couch, books or magazines, kick back and prop my feet up on the coffee table, enjoy a good fire or watch something on television. I've also got my stereo set up in the living room, so I can also hear some tunes if I want. Today I put in a Ramones cd and cranked it up while I was polishing my new coffee table.

I'm ready for Winter this year!

The area above the fireplace was decorated by my Mom and I've not had time to redo it yet. She liked Southwestern items and that's what the theme for this area is. You can see 2 official Daisy Red Ryder BB guns, like in the movie "The Christmas Story." Just above the rifles is a authentic photograph of John Wayne, the great cowboy actor, I bought for my Mom at an antique store. I'm thinking about buying new drapes for the room as well.
