It sits dramatically on a small tidal island at the confluence of three sea lochs—Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh—near the village of Dornie in the western Scottish Highlands, along the main route toward the Isle of Skye.
The medieval castle was substantial, with a curtain wall, towers, and a keep. It played roles in clan feuds and Scottish history but was largely destroyed in 1719 during the Jacobite Rising.
The present structure is 20th-century reconstruction, which took 20 years and was completed in 1935,,,,,,,,, HWW! ,,,,,,, large view recommended

Designed by architect David Bryce, it's a Category A listed building,
It has a Dramatic location overlooking Loch Leosavay, with views toward the island of Taransay and beautiful white-sand beaches (including nearby Hushinish).
It sits at the confluence of three stunning sea lochs: Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh, near the village of Dornie and not far from Kyle of Lochalsh. Davaar Island is a small tidal island located at the mouth of Campbeltown Loch, off the east coast of the Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll and Bute, western Scotland. It's connected to the mainland by a natural shingle causeway called the Dhorlin, which is exposed at low tide, allowing visitors to walk across—typically taking around 30–40 minutes each way.

The bay is part of the Bristol Channel, at low tide large parts of the channel become mud flats and sand banks due to the large tidal range of 43 ft (13 m)
Some tides come in so fast they are preceded by a large wave called a Bore, these are present on about 130 days in the year and they make a spectacular sight as it travels many miles up the River Parrett,
