The BD-5 was designed as an experimental aircraft by Jim Bede in the late 1960s. This BD-5J at French Valley Airport, CA was restored by members of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1279 which explains the marking (faded on the starboard side) on an aircraft which, I understand, did not ever fly.
