This is my album featuring The Beatles before Ringo Starr joined the group and they still had Pete Best as their drummer. It's still sealed and has never been opened. And not only that, I got Pete Best to autograph it!

This album cover was censored when it was sold in stores by having a brown paper sleeve over the cover with a small section that was cut out and showed just John and Yoko's faces. The album is called "Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins."

Cologne - Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst

Cologne has so many museums... The "Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst" ("Museum-of-East-Asian-Art") goes back on a private collection, that was donated in 1908.

Today the museum, located near the "Aachener Weiher", is in a wonderful building, erected 1976. It was designed by japanese architect Kunio Maekawa.

Even the museum´s cafeteria, managed by "Salon & Metzgerei Schmitz" is worth a visit. Not only for a cappucino (or a tea!) and lunch, but for the beautiful setting. A perfect place just to sit in the sun and watch "the wheels go round and round".

Bruges - Duvelorium

Bruges already had its city charter in 1128 and was a very important member of the Hanseatic League. It was the prospering center of the Flemish cloth industry.

Between 1200 and 1500 Bruges had a kind of "Golden Era". Bruges was a leading European business community.

Center of the historic city of Bruges is the "Grote Markt" lined by impressive buildings, like this one. It houses an exhibition "Historium Bruges", that I found not that interesting.

Part of the "Historium" is the "Duvelorium Grand Beer Café"
(quoting the website) "the only real Duvel café in the world".

It is a real treat and delight to try the different beers (of course all from the Duvel Brewery) while sitting on the panoramic terrace - and "watching the wheels..."

If you visit Bruges, it is worth to climb up the stairs..

Hamburg - Reeperbahn

Hamburg is the second largest city by population in Germany and the second smallest German state by area.

"Hammaburg" was the name of a castle, that Charlemagne commissioned here between the River Alster and the River Elbe. In 1189 Frederick I (aka "Barbarossa") granted Hamburg freedom from customs duties for ships sailing the Elbe from Hamburg to the North Sea.

So the the second largest port in Europe developed here - and just near to the harbour the "Reeperbahn", where once ropes (reep = rope) were produced. Today the area is a centre of Hamburg's nightlife and as well a red-light district.

Between 1960 and 1962 the (still unknown) Beatles played in several clubs around the Reeperbahn. Their first recording was done in the "Star Club". John Lennon is quoted: "I might have been born in Liverpool – but I grew up in Hamburg".

This little flower princess is a Mattel vintage Kologne Kiddle called "Lily of the Valley" from 1968. She stands just 2 inches (5.08 cm) tall and still smells like her name, even after all these years. I remember going to the store with my allowance and buying these liddle dolls (for 68 cents a piece) when I was a kid. :)

The iconic black and white ‘Imagine’ mosaic pays tribute to John Lennon, singer, songwriter, musician and peace activist who was shot and killed while walking into his home at the Dakota Building, on December 8, 1980.

The memorial is located in Strawberry Fields, a landscaped area in Central Park, just across from the Dakota Building. The area is named after the Beatles' song "Strawberry Fields Forever". Designated as a quiet zone in Central Park, an official plaque calls the site a "Garden of Peace."

The memorial is often covered with flowers, candles in glasses, and other belongings left behind by Lennon fans. On his birthday and the anniversary of his death, people gather to sing songs and pay tribute.

Il y a 30 ans, John Lennon fut assassiné par Chapman à l'âge de 40 ans. Imaginez......il avait dit au milieu des années 60 que les Beatles était plus populaires que Jésus Christ et ce fut le scandale planétaire.......Il avait raison pourtant . Le Vatican l'a pardonné récemment ! lol Il peut désormais monter au ciel ! Pure foutaise ! En souvenir de son passage au central park de New-York......Merci John et reposes en paix !

30 years ago John Lennon was murdered by Chapman. He once stated that the Beatles was more popular than Jesus Christ in the mid-sixties......That was a planetary scandal......Nevertheless he was acutely right ! The Vatican has recently forgiven him ! lol John can now reach the sky paradise ! Pure Crap ! Here are a few pictures in order to remember his journey in New-York . Once upon a time........
