M-STAR at JFK (Mono) - 4 March 2014

The aftermath of winter storm Titan was in evidence at a well-cleared but very cold JFK as we taxyed for departure to the much warmer San Juan. I was pleased with this snatched shot of executive B727 M-STAR on the north side. I also love the classic hangar which I though made it worthwhile making a b&w version of this. The M- reg, winglets and hush kit are rather a giveaway though.

On a stopover between flights at JFK, I took a few shots from American Airlines' Terminal 8. They are not classic airliner portraits and are not intended to be. They are just a record of a few minutes at one of the world's most famous airports in compositions constrained by the environment. Featured in this view are B767-300s N346AN (tail) and N353AA with a Qatar Airways B777 in the background.

This view captures the old and new AA tails with the earlier version carried on B767-300 N346AN and the new (which I am now getting used to) on an unidentified B737-800.

This view is intended to emphasise the dominance of winglets in many of today's fleets and features B737-800 N906AN. The shot was through a window and into sun so it is what it is.
