Another shot taken from the road bridge, but looking in the other direction this time. In the distance you can see the Old Mill and the Royal Oak pub and a couple of houses.

Those of you who have been following my photos will know that this is one of my favourite places.

I took the bus this morning for a walk around one of my favourite locations.......Langstone Harbour. This is the view from the middle of the road bridge which connects Havant and Hayling Island.

You can see the remains of the old railway bridge behind the boats.

This was shot in 16:9 format, so it's best viewed large if you have time.

Langstone Harbour at Low tide

It was a gloomy day, so black and white seemed to be the way to go.

I remember when I was a young lad, there was a wooden pontoon tied to that post, and us kids used to swim out to it and dive off it or just lie in the sun. Then someone invented "health and safety" and that was the end of that :-((

During a walk along the pebbled beach at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire I found this small pebble with a fossil on it.

I thought it was worth taking home to photograph. Please view large for the best detail.

The PiP shows the same stone next to a measuring tape for scale.

Still not going anywhere!

There is a small bridge over part of the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, where a run-off allows the extra water to drain into the sea. By hanging over the top of the railings and looking straight down with my camera I was able to get a close up of the water as it ran over the lip of the run-off! I think it makes a lovely abstract image, especially if you view large!

I spotted this ivy climbing up a tree adjacent to the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour. I particularly liked the different colours of the ivy leaves.

Captured this morning in a field adjacent to the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. Best viewed large!

My first outing with a camera for about a week. It was very windy and freezing cold, but good to get out in the fresh air..!!

Just to the right of where I'm standing (and out of shot) is the Hayling Island road bridge. The post in the shingle you can see here, marks the start of what used to be the only way of crossing (without a boat) between Langstone Harbour and Hayling island. It was called the wade way and it is now impassible. It is thought to be around 3000 years old.

It was wonderful in the sunshine at Langstone Harbour this morning, when my wife and I went to feed the birds and get some fresh air............although it was absolutely freezing and most of the birds were hiding in the reed beds. The bit of the pond that wasn't in the sun, was frozen over!

After a brisk walk, we treated ourselves to some hot chocolate to warm up, before driving home!

Yet another shot of one of my favourite places to walk and take photos, so some of you may well recognise this beautiful old mill. Taken back at the end of August, during a lovely mid-morning walk which coincided with low tide, enabling me to get this wider view.
