Could this house be haunted? - HFF

This is a glimpse through the gate. After being on the market for a long time, it finally found a buyer. The buyer moved in, but only stayed for a year. Since then, it stands empty, set in a large garden with a stream running through it. Only every now and then, someone drops by, to do a bit of gardening.

CETTE MAISON, SERAIT-ELLE HANTÉE ? Voici un coup d'oeil à travers le portail. Longtemps mise en vente, elle avait trouvé enfin un propriétaire. Celui-ci y a aménagé, mais n'est resté qu'un an. Depuis elle est restée fermée, dans un grand jardin traversé par un ruisseau..Seulement de temps en temps, quelqu'un passe pour s'occuper un peu du jardin.

KÖNNTE ES IN DIESEM HAUS SPUKEN? Dies ist ein Blick durch das Tor. Es stand lange Zeit zum Verkauf und hatte endlich einen Käufer gefunden. Dieser zog ein, blieb aber nur ein Jahr. Seitdem steht es leer, inmitten eines grossen Gartens, durch den ein Bach fliesst. Nur ab und zu kommt jemand vorbei, um sich etwas um den Garten zu kümmern.

BIEN PROTÉGÉ DU VENT ET CÔTÉ SUD... une place sympa sous l'albizia (arbre à soie) pour faire une pause (infos sur l'église ici). Le meilleur moment est en été, lorsqu'il est en pleine floraison, et que l'on a l'impression d'être assis sous un ciel fleuri rose...

WINDGESCHÜTZT UND AUF DER SÜDSEITE GELEGEN... ein netter Platz unter der Albizie (Seidenbaum), um eine Pause einzulegen (Informationen zur Kirche hier). Die beste Zeit ist im Sommer, wenn er in voller Blüte steht und man das Gefühl hat, unter einem rosa Blumenhimmel zu sitzen...

The new Saint-Georges Church was built recently (20th century): the old 12th-century Saint-Georges Church was demolished in 1963, with the exception of the old bell tower and its bells. The new church was subsequently built 300 metres further away, but it has no bells because the marshy ground would have required foundations that were too heavy and expensive to support their weight. Nevertheless, a tower was added so that it would not be left "decapitated"! The fence marks the boundary of a gallery under the roof.

LA CLÔTURE DE LA TOUR DE L'ÉGLISE. La nouvelle église Saint-Georges est de construction récente (XXe siècle) : l’ancienne église Saint-Georges du XIIe siècle a été démolie en 1963, à l'exception du vieux clocher avec les cloches. Par la suite cette nouvelle église a été construite 300m plus loin, mais elle ne possède pas de cloches pour cause de terrain marécageux qui aurait nécessité de trop lourdes et onéreuses fondations pour supporter leur poids. Malgré tout une tour a été ajoutée pour ne pas la laisser "décapitée" ! La clôture délimite une galerie sous le toit.

DIE UMZÄUNUNG DES KIRCHTURMS. Die neue Kirche Saint-Georges ist ein jüngerer Bau (20. Jh): die alte Kirche Saint-Georges aus dem 12. Jh. wurde 1963 abgerissen, mit Ausnahme des alten Glockenturms mit den Glocken. Anschliessend wurde diese neue Kirche 300 m weiter entfernt gebaut, hat jedoch keine Glocken, weil der sumpfige Boden Fundamente erfordert hätte, die zu schwer und kostspielig gewesen wären, um ihr Gewicht zu tragen. Dennoch wurde ein Turm hinzugefügt, um sie nicht "kopflos" zu lassen ! Die Umzäunung begrenzt eine Galerie unter dem Dach.

The church of Our Lady of the Assumption was built in the 15th century on the foundations of an earlier 12th-century building. In the 18th century, it was enlarged with the addition of two chapels and sacristies. It is topped by an imposing tower flanked by four pinnacles and a slender spire, giving it a massive yet elegant appearance.

UN BANC POUR L'EGLISE... L’église Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption est construite au XVe siècle sur les fondations d'un premier édifice du XIIe siècle. Au XVIIIe elle est agrandie par la construction de deux chapelles et sacristies. Elle est surmontée d'une tour imposante flanquée de quatre clochetons et d'une aiguille effilée qui donnent tout à la fois un aspect massif et élégant.

EINE BANK FÜR DIE KIRCHE... Die Kirche Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption wurde im 15. Jh. auf den Fundamenten eines ersten Gebäudes aus dem 12. Jh. erbaut. Im 18. Jh. wurde sie durch den Bau von zwei Kapellen und Sakristeien erweitert. Sie wird von einem imposanten Turm überragt, der von vier Glockentürmen und einer spitzen Turmspitze flankiert wird, die ihr ein massives und zugleich elegantes Aussehen verleihen.

Last Monday, I posted a photo of these ruins with a barely visible bench in the courtyard – this time, it can be clearly seen in front of the old walls! It's all that's left of a small castle lost in the middle of the fields. It has a charm of its own and a certain spell seems to hang over the old stones. Built in the 14th century, the remains have been classified as a historical monument since 1925.

BANC HISTORIQUE. Lundi dernier j'ai déjà posté une photo de ces ruines avec un banc à peine visible dans la cour - cette fois-ci on le voit bien devant les vieux murs ! C'est tout ce qui reste d'un petit château qui se trouve au milieu des champs. Il dégage un charme fou et un certain sortilège semble planer sur les vieilles pierres. Construit au 14ème siècle, les vestiges sont classés monument historique depuis 1925.

HISTORISCHE BANK. Letzten Montag habe ich bereits ein Foto dieser Ruinen mit einer kaum sichtbaren Bank im Innenhof gepostet – dieses Mal ist sie deutlich vor den alten Mauern zu erkennen ! Es ist alles, was von einer kleinen Burg übrig geblieben ist, die inmitten von Feldern liegt. Sie strahlt einen unglaublichen Charme aus, ein gewisser Zauber scheint über den alten Steinen zu liegen. Sie wurde im 14. Jh. erbaut und steht seit 1925 unter Denkmalschutz.

... or at least, that's what it looks like. When you climb the mound behind the ruins of Bois-Thibaut Castle, you have a direct view of the small courtyard which is surrounded by a high wall. Here you can see a drone view of the ruins.

TOUT DROIT SORTI D'UN CONTE DE FEÉS.. ou du moins, cela ressemble à ça... Lorsqu'on gravit la motte qui se trouve derrière les ruines du château de Bois-Thibaut, on a une vue directe sur la petite cour qui est entourée d'un haut mur. Voici une vue aérienne des ruines prise par drone.

DIREKT AUS EINEM MÄRCHEN... oder zumindest sieht es so aus. Wenn man den Erdhügel hinter den Ruinen der Burg von Bois-Thibaut erklimmt, hat man einen direkten Blick auf den kleinen Hof, der von einer hohen Mauer umgeben ist. Hier eine Luftaufnahme der Ruinen, aufgenommen mit meiner Drohne.

CHÂTEAU AU PIED DE LA COLLINE. Une vue inhabituelle, car normalement on le voit face à l'étang comme on peut le voir ICI ou dans le PiP.

BURG AM FUSSE DES HÜGELS. Ein ungewöhnlicher Anblick, denn normalerweise sieht man es gegenüber des Weihers wie man HIER oder im PiP sieht.

ONLY ONE HOUSE DOESN'T HAVE AN AERIAL! What I find remarkable about this street is not only the play of light and shadow on the stone facades of the houses, but also the "forest" of aerials on the roofs ;-)

NUR EIN HAUS HAT KEINE ANTENNE ! Was ich in dieser Strassenzeile bemerkenswert finde, ist nicht nur das Licht- und Schattenspiel an den Steinfassaden der Hauser, sondern auch der Antennenwald auf den Dächern ;-)

Un beau coucher de soleil cette semaine : quand j'ai vu cette photo à l'écran, j'ai eu envie de jouer un peu avec, en ajoutant couleurs, contraste et filtres. Et grâce au palmier, elle dégage désormais une ambiance exotique... (original voir PiP).
