This was the view from our hotel window on the beach.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Contrary to common belief (and mine!) Teotihuacan is not Aztec. This city was at its peak between 300-500AD with a population of up to 150,000. The civilisation collapsed and the city was abandoned in 550AD.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

&lt;br /&gt;
It was built in sections from 1573 to 1813 around the original church that was constructed soon after the Spanish conquest of Tenochtitlan.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It's not your eyes, the building was structurally unstable because much of Mexico City is built upon the dried lakebed of Lake Texcoco. Restoration work beginning in the 1990s stabilized the cathedral and it was removed from the endangered list in 2000&lt;/div&gt;</description>
