At the end of my shoot covering The Provincial Society's Ale & Ride event, Lucketts operated Caetano Levante bodied Scania K410 EB6 X560656/BK67LOF, is seen setting off from Fareham Bus Station. The preserved vehicles such as First Plaxton Pointer Dart 42728, seen left, had plenty of space to stand as First itself was not operating in the area on New Years Day and National Express were the only other users of the bus station.

Provincial Society Ale & Ride (19) - 1 January 2020

On New Years Day 2020, The Provincial Society operated an Ale & Ride event from Gosport and Fareham Bus Stations using a number of preserved vehicles. After my Gosport shoot [qv], I had taken a break in Havant and then made my way to Fareham where I saw four participants which included the very well known Southampton City Transport Leyland Atlantean 133/TTR167H.

As had been the case at Gosport, First were running no service so there plenty of room for the Ale & Ride buses and a couple of National Express vehicles one of which, Lucketts operated Caetano Levante bodied Scania K410 EB6 X560656/BK67LOF, is seen setting off from the bus station.

I am not an unqualified fan of overall vinyls but those which have been applied to vehicles of the National Express Hotel Hoppa fleet do brighten a very dull basic livery.

Here, Enviro 200 8337/SN08ACV is seen on route H53 at the Sheraton Skyline on Bath Road with vinyls for the Basque Country and, specifically, San Sebastian.

The National Express branding is pretty uninspiring but this line-up of five Caetano Levante bodied Volvo B9Rs at Gatwick Airport Coach Park still looks quite impressive.

From camera are National Express FJ11GKX, SR141/FJ12FYH, 165/FJ11GKU, 142/FJ12FYO and Edwards FJ12FXW.

During the temporary closure of part of the Heathrow Central Bus Station, coaches were diverted to the front of Terminal 3 which presented an opportunity for some decent photographs out in the open.

Parks of Hamilton Plaxton Elite bodied Volvo B9R KSK952 is seen at Terminal 3 Departures on National Express route 501 from London Victoria to Totnes.

This National Express Caetano Levante bodied Volvo B9R FJ60HXY has been running in Commonwealth Games gold livery since at least 2011 when it was allocated to Crawley. Now allocated to and carrying the code for Sipson Road, the vehicle was waiting at Gatwick South Terminal to operate on 747 back to Heathrow Airport.
