➽ Beim Jahrhunderthochwasser im Jahr 1999 wurde die südliche Brücke über die Wertach durch am Mittelpfeiler hängengebliebenes Treibgut stark beschädigt. Als am 23. Mai 1999 das flussaufwärts befindliche Gögginger Ackermann-Wehr einstürzte und das Hochwasser außer Kontrolle geriet, ließ die Stadt Augsburg aus Hochwasserschutzgründen die Brücke sofort abbauen. Bei einem Einsturz der Brücke wäre der gesamte Flusslauf blockiert worden, so dass sich der Fluss noch mehr aufgestaut hätte. Wenige Monate später errichtete die AL Augsburger Localbahn GmbH mit einem Zuschuß der Stadt Augsburg eine neue Brücke, diesmal ohne Mittelpfeiler.

May 1999, the upstream located Gögginger Ackermann weir collapsed and the flood got out of control, prompted the City of Augsburg because of flood protection reasons, to dismantle the bridge immediately. In case of a collapse of the bridge the entire river would been blocked by flotsam, so that the river would been dammed even more. A few months later, the AL Augsburger Localbahn GmbH (Local Railway company) has built with a grant from the city of Augsburg, a new bridge, this time without a central pillar.

➽ Der Protestantische Friedhof in Augsburg hat etwa 9.500 Grabstellen bei einer Größe von etwa 6 ha und liegt im Stadtteil Augsburg-Hochfeld. Der Friedhof wurde 1534 vom Magistrat der Stadt Augsburg angelegt und befand sich zu jener Zeit außerhalb der Stadtmauern. Er wird immer noch genutzt und ist damit der älteste Augsburger Friedhof, auf dem noch Bestattungen durchgeführt werden.

Im Jahr 1700 wurde das Verwaltungsgebäude erbaut. Ab 1825 kam eine Kirche dazu, die nach Plänen von Johann Michael Voit und August von Voit angelegt wurde. Als Letztes wurde 1837 eine Leichenhalle hinzugefügt.
Eine Besonderheit des Friedhofs ist seine Sammlung alter Grabbücher, die bis zurück zum Jahr 1658 erhalten geblieben sind. In diesem Archiv sind auch die Grabdenkmalinschriften des 18. Jahrhunderts verzeichnet.

➽ The Protestant Cemetery in Augsburg has about 9,500 grave sites at a size of about 6 hectares and is located in Augsburg Hochfeld area. The cemetery was established in 1534 by the Municipality of the city of Augsburg and was at that time outside the city walls. It's still used and hence is the oldest cemetery in Augsburg, where still be carried burials.

In 1700, the administration building was built. In 1825 a church was built according to plans by Johann Michael Voit and August von Voit. Lastly a mortuary was added in 1837.
A special feature of the cemetery is his collection of old grave books that have survived to return to the year 1658. In this archive are also listed the grave monument inscriptions of the 18th Century.
