Noch liegt Würzburg weitgehend im Schlaf und im Morgennebel. In wenigen Minuten wird sich der Nebel auflösen und von der Herbstsonne abgelöst.
Das Bild wurde auf der Friedensbrücke aufgenommen.
Würzburg is still mainly asleep and covered in morning fog. In a few minutes, the fog will lift and be followed by the autumn sun.

Ein Blick auf den fränkischen Winzerort Sommerhausen am Main am Morgen eines nebligen Wintertags. Der Nebel beginnt sich aufzulösen, die ersten Sonnenstrahlen durchdringen die Nebelschwaden und beleuchten an wenigen Stellen den Ort. Die Windräder oberhalb der Weinberge sind noch in Nebel eingetaucht.
Im Gegensatz zu Oberbayern sind mittlerweile in Franken sehr viele Windräder gebaut worden. Hier hat die Energiewende schon längst begonnen. In den Internet-Artikeln gibt es mehr Infos zu diesem Thema.

A view of the Franconian wine-growing village of Sommerhausen am Main in the morning of a a foggy winter's day. The fog is beginning to lift, the first rays of sunlight are penetrating the wafts of mist and illuminating the village in a few places. The wind turbines above the vineyards are still shrouded in fog.
In contrast to Upper Bavaria, a large number of wind turbines have now been built in Franconia. The energy revolution has long since begun here. There is more information on this topic in the Internet articles.

Ungefähr vor einem Jahr nahm ich dieses Foto auf. Es war schon gespenstisch, wie aus dem Nebel plötzlich zwei Reiter auftauchten. Und eine gute Gelegenheit einen Schnappschuss unter erschwerten äußeren Bedingungen zu machen. Beim Hochladen des Fotos fiel mir der Song Ghost Riders ein. I took this photo about a year ago. It was quite spooky how two riders suddenly appeared out of the fog. And a good opportunity to take a snapshot under difficult external conditions.
When I uploaded the photo, the song Ghost Riders came to mind. Here in a German version by Götz Alsmann.

Dieses Wolken-Erlebnis hatten meine Frau und ich bei einer Wanderung heute Morgen, als wir aus dem nebligen Maintal kommend den im Tal hängenden Nebel unter uns liegen sahen und bei schönstem Sonnenschein 100 m über dem Maintal einen fast unendlichen Blick über die fränkische Landschaft hatten. Gänsehaut pur!

My wife and I had this cloud experience on a hike this morning when, coming out of the foggy Main valley, we saw the fog hanging in the valley below us. We had an almost endless view over the Franconian landscape 100 m above the Main valley in the most beautiful sunshine. Pure goose bumps!

Heute Morgen erlebte ich in Würzburg auf der Alten Mainbrücke den ersten nebligen Morgen des neuen Herbstes. Das Rathaus mit seinem hohen Turm und der Kiliansdom (in der Mitte hinten) sind in Nebel eingetaucht. Eine Stunde später schien schon wieder die schönste Herbstsonne.

This morning I experienced the first foggy morning of the new autumn in Würzburg on the Old Main Bridge. The town hall with its high tower and St. Kilian's Cathedral (in the middle at the back) are immersed in fog. An hour later, the most beautiful autumn sun was already shining again.

Diese alte Robinien (Robinia pseudoacacia) stehen zusammen mit einem Wegkreuz an einer Kreuzung von zwei Feldwegen. Eine Bank steht unter den Bäumen und dient oft Wanderern als schattiger Ruheplatz. Die Robinie stammt aus Nordamerika und wird überall in Europa seit fast 400 Jahren in Parks und Gärten gepflanzt. Sie wächst inzwischen auch wild. Sie war Baum des Jahres 2020 in Deutschland. Die Pflanze, bis auf die Blüten, gilt als stark giftig, besonders die Rinde und die Früchte. Wegen der Giftigkeit für Pferde darf Robinienholz nicht zum Bau von Boxen verwendet werden.

These old black locusts (Robinia pseudoacacia), stand together with a wayside cross at a junction of two country lanes. A bench stands under the trees and often serves as a shady resting place for hikers. The black locust is native to North America and has been planted in parks and gardens throughout Europe for almost 400 years. It now also grows wild. It was Tree of the Year 2020 in Germany. The plant, except for the flowers, is considered highly poisonous, especially the bark and the fruits. Because of its toxicity to horses, robinia wood must not be used to build stalls.

Der Schnee ist geschmolzen und langsam trocknen die Wege ab. Die Zeit für Wanderungen ist wieder gekommen. Und wenn dann noch dichte Nebel den Wald verzaubern, ist es im Wald besonders schön. Die Aufnahme entstand in einem Laubmischwald.

The snow has melted and slowly the paths are drying. The time for hiking has come again. And when dense fog enchants the forest, it is especially beautiful in the forest. The photo was taken in a mixed deciduous forest.

Diesen schönen Sonnenaufgang an einem nebligen Morgen erlebte ich kürzlich bei einer Waldwanderung. Ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis waren natürlich die Sonnenstrahlen, die allmählich den Nebel durchdrangen.

Bei einer Wanderung im Spessart zur Sohlhöhe bei Lohr am Main entstand in einer Nadelwaldparzelle dieses Foto. Am Anfang war es im Wald noch total neblig und nur zögernd kam die Sonne durch die Nebelschleier. Es herrschte eine gespenstige Stimmung.
Nur nebenbei: Der Blick in diesen Wald zeigt einen Fichten-Hochwald, also eine dieser Waldformen, die durch den Klimawandel besonders betroffen sind. Windbruch, Trockenheit, Hitze und Schadinsekten setzen den meisten Nadelholzarten enorm zu, so dass diese im Laufe der nächsten Jahre verschwinden und klimafestere Laubholzbäume wie die Eiche an ihre Stelle treten werden.

During a hike in the Spessart to the Sohlhöhe near Lohr am Main this photo was taken in a coniferous forest plot. At the beginning the forest was still totally foggy and only hesitantly the sun came through the veils of mist. There was a ghostly atmosphere.
Just by the way: the view into this forest shows a spruce high forest, one of those forest forms that are particularly affected by climate change. Wind breakage, drought, heat and insect pests are putting an enormous strain on most coniferous species, so that they will disappear in the course of the next few years and be replaced by more climate-resistant hardwood trees such as the oak.

Kürzlich begannen meine Frau und ich bei dichtem Nebel eine Wanderung, die uns durch Weinberge und dann durch einen Buchenwald führte. Der Nebel lichtete sich allmählich und die Sonnenstrahlen konnten den Wald durchdringen. Es war ein magischer Augenblick, auch weil das herbstliche Buchenlaub seine wunderschönen Farben aufleuchten ließ.

Recently, in thick fog, my wife and I started a hike that took us through vineyards and then through a beech forest. The fog gradually lifted and rays of sunlight were able to penetrate the forest. It was a magical moment, also because the autumnal beech leaves let their beautiful colours shine.

An einem nebeligen Morgen, an dem sich allmählich die Sonne durchkämpfte, fand ich diese Pilzgruppe inmitten von Gräsern, die von feinen Wassertröpfchen überzogen waren. Die Aufnahme im Gegenlicht erzeugte dann diese feinen Pastelltöne. Leider konnte ich die Pilzart nicht bestimmen.

On a foggy morning, when the sun was gradually fighting its way through, I found this group of mushrooms amidst grasses covered with fine droplets of water. The backlit shot then produced these fine pastel tones. Unfortunately, I could not identify the species of mushroom.

An einem schönen Wintertag wird es plötzlich sehr neblig und die Sonne hat Mühe sich durch die Nebelschwaden zu kämpfen. Das Bild entstand am Rande eines Waldes mit Blick auf die freien Felder. Man beachte die eigenartigen Farberscheinungen am Himmel, die Sonnen ist nur noch als gleißend helle Scheibe zu sehen.

On a beautiful winter's day it suddenly becomes very foggy and the sun has trouble fighting its way through the fog. The picture was taken at the edge of a forest with a view of the open fields. Note the strange colours in the sky, the sun can only be seen as a glistening bright disc.

Eine eigenartige Stimmung konnte ich kürzlich bei einer kleinen Wanderung über die Felder erleben, die ich bei wolkenlosem, blauen Himmel begann. Später am Nachmittag zogen ganz plötzlich dichte Nebel auf, die zusammen mit dem gedämpften Sonnenlicht die Landschaft verzauberten. Die Bäume im Vordergrund gehören zu einer kleinen Streuobstwiese, eine der letzten im weiten Umkreis. Eine Besonderheit von hohem Naturschutzwert.

I recently experienced a strange mood during a short walk across the fields, which I began under a cloudless, blue sky. Later in the afternoon, dense fog suddenly appeared, which, together with the subdued sunlight, enchanted the landscape. The trees in the foreground belong to a small meadow orchard, one of the last within a large radius. A special feature of high nature conservation value.

After a bright winter's day, fog rolls in more and more in the evening and the setting sun illuminates the interior of the forest with rays of light; the withered foliage leaves in particular shine particularly beautifully in this light.These light rays in the fog are created by light scattering from fog droplets. Einen bunten Mix von Herbstfarben zeigt dieser Weg durch einen Laubmischwald. Der feine Nebel, der zur Zeit der Aufnahme den Wald erfüllte, erzeugte zusammen mit den Pastellfarben eine geheimnisvolle Stimmung.

A bright mix of autumn colours is shown in this path through a mixed deciduous forest. The fine mist that filled the forest at the time of the photograph, together with the pastel colours, created a mysterious mood.

Im Bild eine Ackerlandschaft, die zum Teil noch im Nebel liegt. Die relativ hoch stehende Sonne löst aber den Nebelschleier ziemlich schnell auf. Wenige Minuten später ist der Nebel aufgelöst.

The picture shows an agricultural landscape that is still partly covered in fog. But the relatively high sun dissipates the veil of fog quite quickly. A few minutes later, the fog has dissipated.

Langsam löst sich der Nebel auf und die Sonne kommt zum Vorschein. Die Drähte des Weidezauns sind mit Wassertropfen besetzt und die Perlenschnüre leuchten im Morgenlicht.
Allen Iperianern wünsche ich ein angenehmes Wochenende und HFF!

Slowly the fog dissolves and the sun comes out. The wires of the pasture fence are covered with drops of water and the strings of pearls glow in the morning light.
